It’s often said that a first officer is basically a “captain in training”. It’s kind of crazy to think I’ve been flying this jet for 7 months now, and about half way to upgrading to Captain 👨🏻✈️ .
Our dispatch release includes all the information we need for the flight, from weather, to take off/landing data, airport notams and alternates, and everything in between. It’s one of the main duties of a captain before the flight to review everything in the release, making sure the flight is “legal”. As a first officer, it’s important to review it as well. Now to fly 500 more hours to upgrade 🙃 Who else is looking for a job promotion??
