Given that I was taking literally the very last seat on the plane at a few hours notice I wasn't too fussed about the lack of a proper window in seat 16A on the Singapore Airlines 🇸🇬 787. (if you're selecting a window seat in advance though, it's obviously best avoided)
I'd previously flown this product on a 4.5h daytime flight🌞 to Perth 🇭🇲 and loved it. However I was curious to see what the sleep experience would be like.
At just under 6 hours, Osaka is one of the longest routes on which SQ deploys this seat but Turkish🇹🇷 have started taking delivery of it for their long haul planes.
I'm not sure if it was down to the early morning departure time or the copious amounts of Dom Perignon🥂 in the lounge but I slept almost the whole way from wheels up🛫 to wheels down🛬.
Not only is there an abundance of privacy and storage, the IFE is lightning fast⚡AND the seat is comfortable as a bed🛏️. An all round winner in my eyes!
Have you flown this seat on either SQ or TK? Would you be happy with this product on a longer flight?
Breakfast on Singapore Suites.
If breakfast is the most important meal of the day then it deserves an appropriately important drink🥂.
Furthermore, I've heard about the importance of remaining hydrated during long haul flights. As such I took care of my health by drinking this entire bottle of Krug 2004, thereby offseting the diuretic impact of my morning cappuccino☕.
I'm no scientist but I'm pretty sure I got this right 😁🍾
The Private Room may not be the most modern and fun space to hang out in but during a long layover it was exactly what I needed.
I had a fantastic shower upon arriving🚿, without having to queue.
I was able to leave my bags in the lounge🛍️, freeing me up to visit friends in town.
Upon my return I sat down to a dinner of absolutely delicious mixed satay, paired with a bottle of Dom Perignon🍾.
No announcements are made in the lounge, in order to preserve the atmosphere🔇. When it was time to board, I was directly approached and told how to reach my gate in the most efficient way possible.
An elegant, understated and dependable showing from Singapore Airlines... As always.
This is a #74gear siesta in #Colombia . When you #fly all over the world as a #airlinepilot sometimes you need to just sit outside with a hat on your head listen to the wind and relax. This my version of #suntanning . What do you like to do to relax your mind?
Virgin Atlantic were what I considered to be a pretty luxury airline before I flew their new Airbus A350 from JFK to LHR but I was proven very wrong. I found them to be very disappointing and didn't rate the food, crew or seat. You can see my full video in the link in my bio ✈️
